How I came to be where i am

- Left mexico in 1989, at the age of seven, graduated highschool in 2000, got bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering in 2007. Fighting for the DREAM Act so I can finally be allowed to be a member of the society in which I grew up, I also aspire to get both an MBA and a teaching credential.
This is pretty amazing, it really is. Great job!

ReplyDeleteGabe, I feel for you, I am in the very same situation as you. I was brought here at age 12 from the Caribbean's and I growing up told no one about my situation, I paid for my education with my own money because my father is a loser and he does not care about me, he actually use to beat me everyday because of his other children's mother until I left when I graduated HS in 1999. It took me even longer than you to do college :P. I just got married in december and hopefully my husband and I can put together the money we need to rectify this situation. I just over the past couple years started telling people and some have treated me horribly. Some okay but I can tell that they see me as destroying there country. To them I say at least I had the ambition to go to college??? what are you doing with your life? I find that the people who are judgemental are the ones that have no degrees and contribute nothing to society yet they want to pass judgement on you for what your parents did to you.
